The Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO) invites interested individuals to join its Advisory Committee. We are currently looking to put together a roster of individuals available for consultations in person, or via electronic surveys.
The CMRAO is a not-for-profit corporation funded by the licensing fees paid by the condo management sector and governed by an independent board of directors. The CMRAO is mandated to provide consumer protection for Ontarians living in condominiums by setting standards and enforcing mandatory licensing of condo managers and condo management firms.
The CMRAO Advisory Committee is created pursuant to Section 7.2 (4) of the CMRAO’s administrative agreement that requires the Board of Directors to establish an advisory process for direct input to the Board on issues of importance to consumers and licensees within one year of the date of designation
The Advisory Committee is not a committee of the CMRAO Board. Members will serve on a voluntary basis on the approval of the Board.
The committee is established to:
Advisory Committee members shall be appointed to terms determined by the Board. Terms shall be staggered to ensure continuity of the Committee’s functionality.
The Advisory Committee shall meet at the request of the Board or the Registrar for feedback on specific topics. Members can expect to meet at least once per year.
Meetings will primarily be held at the CMRAO office in Toronto. Depending on the content, teleconferencing may be arranged for members unable to attend in person.
In addition, the CMRAO may consult with the committee electronically, through surveys or other means that don’t involve travelling.
Meeting agendas and supporting documents will be sent to each member in advance of the meeting date.
Please submit a letter of interest (limited to one page) outlining your qualifications and the reason why you would like to be a member of the CMRAO Advisory Committee to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 15, 2018
